Starting to see some  Green-Winged Teals and Northern Shovelers in addition to the Sandhills and bountiful  Mallards and Canadian Geese.  Or so I think...may well be wrong given my poor birding abilities.

Spring can't come soon enough for this hungry deer.   Last month's trail cam caught ample deer (in packs of up to four but mostly in twos), lots of coons, a black lab, pheasants, squirrels and a few shots of a hawk (?) - one of which is below.

Thanks to WE Energies for pulling the posts that lined the dike path this past week!    The hawks aren't happy, but the sight line is clearer.

Two posts remain.  One holds a kestrel box and the second, closest to the Bark River, will hopefully house an osprey nest.  Thanks to Bruce from UW-W for offering to build one....we just need to find a means to hoist it.  Suggestions are welcome!
